Noisy Dryer Takes Too Long To Dry – How To Fix

dryer-blower-wheel

If your dryer seems to take forever to dry your laundry and it’s also noisy, you might have a broken or obstructed blower wheel.

The blower wheel helps to circulate air throughout the drum, exhaust and over the heating element. If no air is circulating in your dryer, it could be causing your laundry to take longer to dry. If you hear a high-pitched whine, rattling, or your laundry is not dry at the end of the cycle, check your blower wheel.

Over time it can crack, or the the fins of the fan can bend or break off. Lint and sometimes articles of clothing can become entangled in the part, causing noise and drying problems.
