Why is Ice Building Up in My Refrigerator Freezer?

10367149_711573745571036_8075036843282306199_nIf ice is building up in your refrigerator freezer, it could be a bad defrost thermostat, defrost timer or even the gasket (seal) around your freezer door. You can test the thermostat and timer yourself, using an ohmmeter and replace the part.
Visually check the gasket for wear and tear and see how tightly it seals. If the gasket is worn or the seal is sagging, replace the gasket on your freezer door.

Find your freezer part online using your refrigerator’s model number.
