Samsung recalled 2.8 million of their top-load washing machines due to reports of injury and damage to owner’s homes.
The recall involves 34 models of Samsung Top Load Washers with the following model numbers.

The top of the washer can unexpectedly detach from the machine causing injury and damage, especially when the machine is washing bulkier items on high-speed spin cycles.
Samsung is offering owners of the recalled washers the following remedies:a free in-home repair, plus a free one-year extension of the manufacturer’s warranty; a rebate to be applied towards the purchase of a new Samsung or other brand washing machine (includes installation and removal of old unit) , or a full refund for consumers who purchased their washing machine within the past 30 days of the recall announcement, which was announced Friday, Nov. 4, 2016.

These washers were sold across the U.S. at places like Best Buy, Home Depot, Sears and other home appliance stores between March 2011 and November 2016.
